This event is open to the public. Everyone is welcome!
What reall makes you happy? Have you ever given serious thought to that question? Sunday January 23, 2011 is your chance, by joining us at Happiness: What Really Makes You Happy? a lively program of ideas and self-exploration, sponsored jointly by the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach and the Laguna Beach branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women).
We’ll show you clips of what some experts think, including some surprising findings from Dr. Daniel Gilbert, Harvard psychologist and best selling author of Stumbling on Happiness, and the intriguing ideas of Nobel Laureate Dr. Daniel Kahneman.
Even more important than hearing from the experts, is the chance you’ll have to think and talk with others about what brings happiness to your own life. In our busy lives, it’s nice to take a breather to personally reflect and exchange ideas. From past programs we’ve conducted, we know how much participants value doing that.
The event is free and open to the public. It will run from 3-5pm at the Woman’s Club, 286 St. Ann Street, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. Local psychologists Marion Jacobs and Alison King host the program with assistance from Peggie Thomas, Barbara Hamkalo, Vera Martinez and Louise Allison.
Refreshments will be served.
